I personally think he's waiting for approval and upfront partnership with money. Then we'll hopefully see simultaneous trials started in a big way.

The patents can be extended for up to several years, depending on how long it takes for the FDA to approve Blarcamesine. Perhaps not in the EU as I am not familiar with the IP laws over there.
