Tesla Fire Causes Hard Lane Closure on Westbound I-10
In more local news this evening, traffic was brought to a standstill on the westbound side of the I-10 after a Tesla caught fire earlier today. The fire, which occurred around 11 a.m., was caused when an object fell off the bed of a pickup truck and was struck by the Tesla. The car quickly caught fire as a result of the collision. This fire is not caused by EM radiation but shows the danger of Teslas in general because of how easily the battery pack can be punctured leading to thermal runaway. Just another way EVs are potentially dangerous despite the titanium shell the battery packs are encased in.
