You and I have only a superficial and limited familiarity, and you have a poor understanding of AD researchers' breath and depth of training and experience. I have a college friend who does Parkinson's research for Prevail/Lilly and he'd be amused. They're not ignorant or blind in the 'true cause' (which like AD is not yet known) nor in the various experimental therapies (his field is gene therapies).
If you ask an AD researcher working with MABs what the cause and cure of AD is, he's not going to say "Amyloid fibrils, they have to be removed". Take a moment.
