Dstock, Interesting point. Your DD is really top notch. As a follow up, I asked AI to list which biotech companies switched from cancer to autoimmune in 2024. Of course their reasons are probably different and biotech company specific, and I do not know what trend to draw from that. Still I can't help but think they all know about DCVax-L and Direct as a broad-spectrum cancer vaccine that is about to change the cancer therapy landscape, as an important factor in their decision making process.

In 2024, several biotech companies pivoted their focus from cancer to autoimmune diseases.

Odyssey Therapeutics: This company shifted its focus from developing immunomodulators for oncology to concentrating on autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Kymera Therapeutics: While not entirely abandoning oncology, Kymera significantly reduced its efforts in this area, prioritizing the development of therapies for autoimmune diseases.

Poseida Therapeutics: This company also made a strategic shift towards autoimmune diseases, leveraging its expertise in cell therapies.

IGM Biosciences, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, made a strategic pivot in 2024, shifting its focus exclusively from oncology to autoimmune diseases.

Moderna: Leveraged mRNA technology to develop autoimmune therapeutics, moving beyond COVID-19 and cancer vaccines.

Immatics: Reallocated research resources to focus more intensively on autoimmune disease treatments, particularly T-cell receptor therapies.

BioNTech: Expanded autoimmune disease research portfolio, applying their immunotherapy expertise previously concentrated in cancer.

“I feel like Oncology is totally LP's domain or empire.”

Well, we can all hope that is true; they certainly have many patents.
