Doc logic, you always probe deep. All I can say is I believe NWBO had a difference of opinion with FDA over the clinical hold and eventually was proven to be correct as the hold was lifted with no further action by NWBO. This difference of opinion I believe played a role in their move to the UK. I don't believe we will ever know the truth about these apparently related events as NWBO will need an FDA relationship forever. The difference of opinion may have been related to their processing or maybe something else at the time like around aspects of trial design.
The awful relationship with Woodford was I think due to his past general investment success at that point in time and thinking he knew more than he did and could influence the company more than he could. His lack of pharma knowledge crashed his venture so I think LP should be seen as handling him appropriately, though what you say makes sense.
My bottom line is these companies need a friend in all legislative bodies particularly in the USA to clean up our markets. It is easy to understand the periods of time that will elapse without news in the drug development cycles and to allow corrupt, destructive entities to gain financially by costing these companies precious time and resource while people suffer and die is just unimaginable but it is occurring as we write. Hopefully 2025 will see a common sense turn around in this area with NWBO's case helping considerably.
