Don’t worry, the pressure to deliver and meet new milestones never ends. If you take 3 to 4X the time a normal company would and consistently lie to shareholders, no one is going to trust you to deliver value to shareholders.

Just ensure you are not holding the bag as folks have been for the past decade!

It wouldn't make much sense to allow a UK Specials L program to proceed for ten years then have MHRA shoot it down entirely, IMO.  I think MHRA will declare L Plll data nebulous but continue to allow Specials to collect data while another confirmatory trial runs with some combo arm.
