One patient had a TP53 mutation. TP53 mutations (in AML) are associated with a (very) poor prognosis and resistance to standard treatments [1-5], with patients often showing limited response to even allogeneic stem cell transplantation [6,7].
Immunologically, it is a distinct subset, with increased PD-L1 and downregulation of miR-34a, as well as upregulation of MYC. Additionally, there is a reduction in CD8+ T-cells and CD4+ T-cells, along with an expansion of immunosuppressive Tregs, and MDSCs, contributing to broad immune evasion [8].
