MRM, in the short-term, as Sleven alluded to, market makers will buy the Sell orders. They don't hold them forever, but they will hold them in order to get them into the hands of buyers when those buyers emerge. Often times they know a buyer is coming (institution), so they will begin accumulating to sell to that institution.
