Rikkie, surely you must understand the difference between a visionary scientist and a manager of a public company. Those two things are virtually always mutually exclusive. Michael Lebby is a genius, I have no doubt. What I also have no doubt about is that he is ill-qualified to MANAGE a struggling public company. It’s not in his wheelhouse.
He needs a bit of humility when it comes to his skillset. He’s in over his head directing the business operations of a public company. Every objective metric proves the point. This company’s prospects would improve immeasurably if:
1. Lebby moved to CTO and stepped down as board chair;
2. Marcelli is let go, forced to retire, whatever, and a qualified CFO inserted;
3. MZ is fired, and a new shareholder/market relations team put in place; and
4. Hire a big four accounting firm, and take advantage of their managerial resources.
