#212477 RE: SSKILLZ1 #212476

It's a big, fat mess that should have been handled much better by MLB, who has bottom line authority in these cases regardless of what the teams want. There's still a chance that this works out in a way that won't require Monday stress, but IMO that solution sees the Mets on the outside looking to next year.

Explain to me why the padres and brewer should get a free pass of facing and opponent that is severely compromised.

Okay, how about the idea that they've earned it by winning games that matter and the Mets haven't. In choosing what teams should be disadvantaged by a stupid situation, it's pretty clear that the correct choice would be the teams that have worse records. As you like to say, it's that simple.

The Mets have looked awful in the last 2 games. Your 2 gun starters haven't managed to even keep the games competitive. Your bats, outside of Iglesias, haven't shown up. Your defense has been leaky. You can blame the schedule, the Brewers for stealing bases or the Braves for wracking up lucky hits, but the bottom line is the same: Mets had complete control of their destiny entering the last week of the season and they've been crushed in the 2 games so far. They're in a slump. The timing is awful, but it's hardly the fault of anyone but the Mets.
