Only recently has there been a push to get medical students in the UK any real focus on GBM research. The needle has not moved on survival for more than two decades so the NHS has been content to judge GBM as a hopeless cause. That is of course until DCVax-L showed up and offered hope that a breakthrough would be possible. Dr. Keyoumars Ashkan has been a relentless advocate for this therapy because he has seen it work, even in otherwise hopeless cases like those of Kat and Mr. Powers.
There will be a good reimbursement agreement because this is a platform technology that all cancer patients will want once NWBO and others are more free to talk about what they have and the threat this has brought to the status quo. Funding priorities will change because the people will demand this once they see how this has been held back from patient access due to cost considerations, Flaskworks development and “the process”.
