Re DNDN and automation
My opinion back then was that automation would have been a large help. but management waste was a larger issue.
They had a 45% margin on sales, they were not running any significant trials and they had little need for marketing. Alas management there was a total cluster fuck. Once management was kicked out Dendreon presumably became profitable (they are private, so we do not know for sure, but in general private companies became profitable or die).
They were working on automation around 2013, but that is not an easy fast spin. They have it now (from other companies), but not sure how much it matters overall for them other than being a clear requirement for their CDMO operations.
