Haniyeh was a key mediator for the ceasefire in Gaza, so naturally, the psychopathic leader of Israel needed to have him murdered. There will NEVER be an end to Netanyahu's slaughter in Gaza or else he'll spend the rest of his living days in a prison cell.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned Haniyeh’s death and said it represented a “dangerous escalation” in the conflict. Qatar had long hosted Haniyeh in a U.S.-backed arrangement, and the Gulf Arab country is a key mediator in efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza between Hamas and Israel. https://www.npr.org/2024/07/31/nx-s1-5058383/hamas-says-top-leader-killed-in-iran
brooklyn13, Note nothing in my posts is eclipsed by new news. At least virtually everything i post is still true to today. So you have started your post with an untrue statement.
"This story has been eclipsed, obviously, since your post by the killing of the Hamas guy in Tehran."
To the Haniyeh assassination by Israel. Yes, a political killing by Israel which will undoubtedly escalate the war. Again you do not supply a link for your ..
"About what you posted, Dexter Filkins reports from Beirut in the current issue of The New Yorker. The spokesman for the top guy in Hezbollah says they don’t want an all out war with Israel because it would destroy Lebanon and they care about the Lebanese people. He contrasts that with the leaders of Hamas, who he says, don’t care about the well being of Palestinians or what happens to Gaza. At all. I can’t post a link but it’s pretty easy to find."
Why couldn't you include a link, to post you are either on a computer or a mobile, so i don't understand why. Hope you are able to answer the why.
I understand it's still around, but not particularly relevant any more. And you know, every major country is engaged in cyber war. Some more maliciously than others.
One other thing, yesterday you had a go at Erdogan. It is clear the political assassination of Haniyeh has put more fire in Erdogan's belly in his condemnation of Israel.
And it is clear that if Israel had said ok to the promise to Palestinians of a free and independent state with East Jerusalem as capital then Erdogan would not feel the animosity against Israel that he feels.
In conclusion, I'm neither interested in your speculation about where Israel has infiltrated nor in your imbecilic statement that i and others here would be happy at the undoubted now coming escalation of the war.
On another note, personally i feel this war could be the greatest impediment to Democrats retaining the presidency in the U.S. I don't see any huge division within Republicans over the war, as there is within Democrats. \ PS: If you reply to this post deal with content only.
