This story has been eclipsed, obviously, since your post by the killing of the Hamas guy in Tehran.

About what you posted, Dexter Filkins reports from Beirut in the current issue of The New Yorker. The spokesman for the top guy in Hezbollah says they don’t want an all out war with Israel because it would destroy Lebanon and they care about the Lebanese people. He contrasts that with the leaders of Hamas, who he says, don’t care about the well being of Palestinians or what happens to Gaza. At all. I can’t post a link but it’s pretty easy to find.

About the killing in Tehran, the ruling claque there must be shitting themselves. The Intel on this guy’s location most likely came from either inside Hamas or Iran. This could be another sign that people in Iran are done with their government spending all their money on exporting terrorism as the quality of life there dramatically declines and would welcome the government being overthrown. We’ve seen glimpses of this recently, but this takes it to a new level.

Or, maybe, possibly, Israel has people who have infiltrated a higher level of the Iranian government. Regardless, the Supreme Leader and Co., now know they’re in deep doodoo, that their tickets to martyrdom can probably be punched at any time
