Right, I didn’t mean to sound like I was criticizing your post, I was just adding on. Defendants (market makers), as you rightly point out, have much to lose, but right now, they’re still clinging to the hope that their MTD might succeed.

The money being made by the perps until multiple time zeros on action is the basic motivating factor. This includes hope/belief they can make a strong settlement offer or enough of a case to defend against large jury awarded damages granted even longer term. In the mean time the most likely to be ultimately affected, if all goes wrong for the defendants, will attempt to defend their fortunes by investing in huge value primary residences, trusts and other generally protected assets.
