Ideally i feel criminals should not be treated the same. Just a personal gut feeling with no research base, is that privileged white collar criminals with lucky backgrounds should be hit harder. Looking at recidivism Norway looks good, the U.S.A. ranks surprisingly well. Australia, where i am, is among the worst.

For a number of reasons the recidivism rate figures may not mean too much .. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/recidivism-rates-by-country .

This is Australia's biggest shame

Disproportionate incarceration rate

Although Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults make up around 2% of the national population, they constitute 27% of the national prison population.[1] In 2016, around 20 in every 1,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were incarcerated. Over-representation is both a persistent and growing problem—Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander incarceration rates increased 41% between 2006 and 2016, and the gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous imprisonment rates over that decade widened.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women constitute 34% of the female prison population. In 2016, the rate of imprisonment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women (464.8 per 100,000) was not only higher than that of non-Indigenous women (21.9 per 100,000), but was also higher than the rate of imprisonment of non-Indigenous men (291.1 per 100,000).

Oh, and thanks for keeping your penchant for using caps for emphasis at a very minimum here. Just words are generally enough.

"If CONVICTED, imho Secret Service, Pension, Healthcare, etc. should be forfeited. "

I don't think the law allows for any of that though.

On the other hand he's going to be picked apart by lawsuits for quite some time.

RE: CONVICTION - JUST AS I EXPECTED & SUGGESTED RECENTLY:

Democrats look to strip Secret Service protection from Trump if he's convicted

The so-called 'DISGRACE' Act directly targets Trump who is facing 91 felony charges in federal and state courts

Glad to see someone has SOME SENSE!! No way should TAXPAYERS be on the hook, nor REWARD with that kind of financial commitment, support, etc.. AS I HAVE SAID!!

JUST THE FACTS PLEASE!!

Just another subject I broached BEFORE it became REALITY!!

If CONVICTED, imho Secret Service, Pension, Healthcare, etc. should be forfeited.

Let the CONVICT get what convicts DESERVE!

Of course, I have NO IDEA if Trump is going to be convicted. But I'd like to SPARE the TAXPAYERS additional costs, insult-to-injury, etc.; by discontinuing to fund a lavish retirement. Let him fend for himself. Just my $0.02
