#186982 RE: MarcoPolo4 #186957

The latest 'news' should be viewed with extreme skepticism and here's why:

Consider this: Marco wrote:

Remember Dr. Lebby said in 2021, first slow rollout expected in 2024 and ramp begins in 2025. The company has not failed and fallen behind since 2021, they are on track.

I showed a couple of days ago that this is a complete fabrication. In the ASM 2022 at 35:04 Dr Lebby said "We've never given timelines before."

So Marco was a year off. So what? Well, this is WHAT: As I showed 2 days ago the message in ASM 2021 strongly implied commercialism beginning in 2021 and Dr Lebby even used the words "partnering for mass commercialization" as the next step after the current (at the time) Piloting process he said they were in. The slide I shows literally had a timeline which showed "COMMERCIALIZATION Polymer Plus" at a point where 2021 (halfway through - ie ASM time) ended - giving the strong impression that shareholders could expect something great any day and certainly by year end. Watch for yourself from 6 - 20 min:

Big deal? YES. It was a HUGE deal. WHY? Because THAT implied TIMELINE caused the stock these things to happen:
1. The stock immediately skyrocketed to upper teens within weeks.
2. The higher price enabled them to uplist organically to Nasdaq.
3. The uplist enabled Marcelli and Dr Lebby each to be awarded $2.6m in cash
4. The directors were able to cash out at year end, taking in millions in profit.

NONE of that would have happened if Dr Lebby had given the true timelines.

You think that was all an accident? It wasn't IMO. It was pre-meditated, imo. To me it is obvious.

THAT'S why it was a big deal and still is.

After I pointed this out to Marco, he said nothing. Then when I challenged him AGAIN on it, he said nothing.

Newcomers, don't put your head in the sand. Think about what the above implies about the company.

Marco said

I don't think I or anyone else wants to try and respond to your Blitzkrieg BullSh*t

.

The thing is, - it isn't BS. It's facts and it is a big deal.

Denial is very hurtful to shareholders. Newcomers read through the following and ask yourselves: Is this B.S?

You'll see that it isn't at all. But it IS true that longs don't answer. The real reason is because at best they can only come up with a couple of decent responses, and maybe another half dozen not-so-good ones. As a whole, there just aren't 'good' answers.

LOOK again at the example above about the 2021 ASM implied timeline and then read my first question below. Is that question BS? Is it to be denied a anyone serious about the stock?

Who cares if they now are "almost ready"? WHAT? They have been "almost ready" year after year.

I can only shake my head: Check out these questions very carefully Newcomer. Just TRY to find the "BS" in them. You can't.:

Here are a number of questions that intelligent longs just can't answer without twisting common sense into pretzels:

1. Why did the Dr Lebby lead investors to expect massive commercialization by year end 2021?

2. Why did the company include in their 10k 10 years in a row to expect commercialization by year end?

3. Why was Dr Lebby so wrong about multiple deals closing as soon as year end 2023?

4. Why would Dr Lebby NOT have known of reliability and scalability concerns by prospective customers as soon as discussions began (ie PRIOR TO the Dec 4 letter)?

5. Why doesn't Dr Lebby tell investors exactly what reliability or scalability is being required by customers, as well as how long it will take, if the truth is that the company has no doubt that they can demonstrate it?

6. Why didn't Dr Lebby tell investors in ASM 2021 that a PDK often takes 2 or 3 years instead of talking about "partnering for mass commercialization" and showing a slide with commercialization beginning in 2021?

7. Why doesn't Dr Lebby tell investors the actual reason(s) why no transceiver company has agreed to produce a demo for 800gpbs when THAT is what the industry is looking for?

8. Why did Dr Lebby say recently they would be showing their demo for the next 6 months? Why not 3 months? Or 12 months?

9. If they really have tested foundry produced modulators at 200gpbs per lane, why didn't he just say so in plain English?

10. Why didn't Dr Lebby ever mention ALD process needs earlier, or expain the delay they would bring to the process?

11. Why did they change wording from "we are implementing" to "we are planning to implement" 4 channel within one month of the 3rd qtr commentary - for
inclusion in the far more important annual shareholder letter?

12. Why does the industry continue to come up with new solutions years after the company says they have reached their limit?

13. Why has the company r&d for foundry work been so small if they are really gunning to change everything?

14. IF the recent news about 200gpb from Lightwave were really so great why has Synopsis post of it not generated a single comment? Synopsis is a photonics solutions company with over 10,000 employees.

15. Why didn't Dr Lebby say how consistent and good the yields are when he briefly mentioned their full poling results in the q&a at OFC?

16. Why has the company never directly announced a single major company partner?

17. Why did the company lead investors to believe they were "foundry ready" at ASM 2023 when not a single foundry had produced a 200mm wafer with their modulators on it yet, and apparently didn't for some 9 more months?

18. Why did they company REALLY refuse to discuss their annual goals at ASM 2023 in light of the above as well as the fact that they had not met the tech transfer license goal?

19. Why has the company never mentioned they have a commercial deal with Polariton?

20. Why doesn't the company allow a serious article by an analyst in order to drum up industry interest by giving them some sensible 3rd party validation?

21. Why hasn't Andy B still "updated his slide" after Dr Lebby suggested he could have done that 6 months ago?

22. Why is Thin film NB the talk of the town and nobody seems to talk about Perkamine?

23. Why is their only sales person working for 2 other companies if they really are ready for prime time sales?

24. Why is Marcelli saying Vanguard and Blackrock talking regularly with the company when they would have no incentive to do so?

25. Why does the 10k still say PDKs are in development at foundries and not indicate they now have any that are qualified and complete (ie both front and back end ready)?

26. Why has the stock done dramaticaliy worse than all comparable indexes that would include it?

27. Why did investors change from declaring that there is NO WAY the top 2 would each take $2.6m in cash bonuses if a deal wasn't right around the corner, to later saying they are ok with it when the company had still produced such little evidence of meaningful progress?

28. Why doesn't the company not tout world record performances on plasmonics and not using their own polymer modulators created in a foundry?

29. Why did the company say they had expanded into new warehouse space 8 months before they really did?

30. Why were shareholders light deer in the headlights when DIRECTORS ALL sold large share amounts in late 2021-early 2022 while shareholders were expecting "partnerships for mass commercialization" on any given day?

31. Why does the company keep their shareholders in the dark on the status of each of their 3 products, being extremely evasive about where foundry work stands and even how many foundries they are currently working with?

32. Why does the CEO spend all kinds of time traveling and staying in fine hotels instead of pounding the pavement to get those deals signed?

33. IF things are really going foward and so great, why are shareholders not seeing any sign whatsoever that anybody other than they are aware of it?
