Lets look at the full scope, im aware of, of Network Collaboration (Shared personnel resource pool - Employees/Consultants) between Sintx and Zimmer, Biomet, & Zimmer Biomet starting with current CEO Dr. Sonny Bal.
Networks: People connected by relationships, which can take on a variety of forms, both formal and informal.
Dr. Sonny Bal MD, JD, MBA, PHD current Chairman, CEO, CFO
Designer Surgeon Panel, Zimmer Inc., Warsaw, Indiana, 2002 to present.
We now have evidence that Sintx was testing its femoral head along with a Biomet liner when Dr. Bal joined Sintx as a surgeon designer while also being a surgeon designer for Zimmer. Dr. Bal was brought on to assist Sintx with designing hip/knee implants which would have included Biomets liner. Dr Bal continued his position as a surgeon designer for Zimmer up to at least 2014 while he was on the board of Sintx (2012).
Dr. Bal and former Zimmer Biomet CEO, David Dvorak (2007-2017) join OREF board of trustees together.
In addition, the trustees welcome to the board:
B. Sonny Bal, MD, JD, MBA (Columbia, MO); Paul C. Collins, MD (Boise, ID); David C. Dvorak, JD (Warsaw, IN)
Dr. Link, PHD
Max Link, Ph.D. has served as the Chairman of our board of directors since October 2003. Dr. Link served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Centerpulse AG, the largest orthopedics company in Europe, from March 2002 until October 2003, when Centerpulse was acquired by Zimmer Holdings, Inc.
Dr Link, former CEO of Centerpulse until acquired by Zimmer in 2003 was Sintx Chairman until 2014 when he stepped down for health reasons. Passing away shortly after.
Dr. Aaron Hofmann, MD Co-Founder of Sintx.
Aaron A. Hofmann, M.D. is our co-founder and has been a member of our board of directors since 1996.
Since 2003, Dr. Hofmann has been a design surgeon for Zimmer Holdings, Inc.
Dr Hofmann began as a surgeon designer for Centerpulse before Zimmer acquired it in 2003. Thus Dr. Hofmann has been tied to Centerpulse/Zimmer since Sintx founding.
Dr. G. Pezzotti, PHD I do not have official evidence of research collaboration between Biomet and Dr Pezzotti. What i do have is a list of about 8 research papers that Dr Pezzotti did on behalf of Biomet suggesting that Biomet used Pezzotti as a scientific advisor like the function he provides for Sintx.
Dr Saurabh Lal, PHD (Si3N4 coatings expert) Dr. Lal has never been directly connected to Sintx that im aware of. Hes included in this list because of his extensive Si3N4 work for European Unions Life Long Joints program for which Sintx has been a partner in. He serves as a Principle Engineer at Zimmer Biomet in Swindon, UK as part of its anti-infection coatings program. He was hired December 2018.
