I also find the "zero" water discharge claims incredulous, but I'll accept very little discharge. As for filters, my DD shows very large (8-10 ft long) angled drum filters that rotate. The EC (electro coagulation) machines turn micro suspended solids into large solid particles (coagulation) which are removed by the drum filters. The EC machines are basically large electrolysis units, so in salt water they would produce as a byproduct, chlorine and a high PH compound called sodium hydroxide (both in concentration would be deadly to shrimp). It is my hypothesis that the necessary constant control of the byproduct chemical compounds is SHMP's largest problem in producing large quantities of shrimp. I also believe they will solve it through an automated system.
