some good questions -- I think the answer is that in her/his circle the optical world comprises much more than the optica folks.

Perhaps it is referring to the people who matter - who really are directing the industry.

Of course many do know who Dr Lebby is, but apparently in their optical worlds what Lightwave does is not relevant.

Maybe that will change. I just was sharing what I was told is the case now. and this person does appear to be very well connected.
