FS, those are some interesting thoughts on the share movement. I've been figuring that it is just overbought, but there could be a fear factor relating to the costs of that fab.

FS, on recent share price movement

I'm assuming that when you say "recent" you're talking about the last 4 days or so -- since the last high. Whaddya want? A new high every day? Then when could you buy in on relative weakness? :)

AMD seems to be trading with the market. For AMD, even though it is listed on New York, it more closely follows the movement of the Nasdaq, with the exception of usually moving twice or three times the percentage amount. That seems to be what's been happening the last few days.

There also has been so much rumour and anticipation that it is difficult to say whether all the expected news is priced into the stock already. So, I think that the market doesn't have any clue where to place AMD right now. This may sort itself out next week -- I'm guessing on the positive side, but I must admit that there's a lot to think about. The holiday also is a time for reflection -- expect the market to be more vigorous tomorrow, up or down, I don't know, but it should be a real dogfight.

The key point for AMD investors remains that yes, it could drop to $10 in a hurry with rumours of production problems (blunted somewhat by Intel's apparent problems), but the upside is also tremendous, with a potential two- or three- or more-bagger quite possible. AMD has the potential to be the stock of the year -- and you can pick your year, 2003 or 2004.
