This is crazy! If they are aware that she cannot login using her old credentials and they can't help her, why don't they just let her have a new account?
I agree. But Dave said "they"--as in him and Shelly, I suppose--had tried to help her understand the situation, but that didn't work. They are sticklers for protocol. For many years, I had a blindingly obvious IHub password. At some point about ten years ago, I thought that perhaps I should change it, and did. But I always stay logged in, and so forgot about the new password. Eventually got bounced due to some problem. Tried to log in with my old password.
PM'd Dave and told him just to tell me. But he wouldn't. Eventually he gave me enough hints that I remembered.
