In addition to SUA, theres another component that seems to occur sometimes, a lot of the time lately. Thats the sudden veering of the Tesla that can be combined spontaneous increases in speed.

Here is the best description of this sudden veering ive seen to date:

A Tesla driver claims the autopilot feature on his car took over seconds before he veered off a New Jersey road, and he blamed the vehicle’s technology for the crash.

The Tesla Model X veered to the right suddenly, and the steering wheel locked into place as a message appeared that a new lane was detected, Carter told police.

Police said the car went off-road, hit a curb, struck traffic signs and then drove over another curb before it stopped in a grassy area.

There was this incident back in May:

The Naples Police Department confirmed to NBC2 that the driver reported losing the ability to steer, which caused the vehicle to go off the road prior to being able to stop. Additionally, there are no pending charges for the driver.

“They hit the mailbox, and then they came across the curb, hit the fire hydrant, set it off, and then hit a bunch of their landscape,” she said. “They hit the fire hydrant, so it was going off like crazy. We would’ve had to dive in and try to rescue them from their vehicle, but it was literally just a small little tree and shrub that kept them from going into the canal.”

Doesnt look like they were able to stop the Tesla but a shrub and tree managed to stop forward momentum otherwise they would have gone into Moorings Bay. Guessing those were enough to raise the Tesla so it couldnt continue to drive forward.

Most recently there was this accident where it appears the speed up and veering occurred:

Dr. Alfred Valles, 50, and Selina Valles, 46, were killed at 9:30 p.m. Friday when they were traveling north on Friant Road and crashed into a tree in the middle divider of Friant near Rice Road, north of Champlain Drive.

Police confirmed Monday the vehicle involved was a Tesla. At the scene Friday night, police said the Valles were traveling at a high rate of speed and that a small fire was sparked near the site; it was extinguished quickly by the fire department.

As you can see the road is perfectly straight here making one wonder why they suddenly veered into the median. I could go on and on about Teslas suddenly veering, but i'll finish with this one where an off duty county sheriff experienced this same problem resulting in the death of the driver of the F250.

For an unknown reason," according to police, the Tesla veered across the center lane and into the right lane, where it collided with the Ford pickup.

As a result of the collision, Vallier lost control of the Ford F250 and crossed the center lane into the left lane and, then, onto the grassy median, where it began to roll over, police said.
