#267884 RE: gimmegimmeminemine #267882

Still in hope mode, but we did learn things were not going well as new protocals and new leadership are being put in place.

Not sure all will agree things are not going well.

Are you referring back to the May shareholder letter when referencing "not going well" and new protocols? Like this statement from the letter:

Based on the technical analysis of the first silk and cotton composite yarn, the Company partnered with leading U.S. textile engineers to improve several aspects of the silk cutting, washing, and opening processes. The results are a set of processing steps and protocols that have proven to improve the silk staple fiber separation and alignment, which will increase the overall quality and uniformity of the composite yarns

Based on partnering with top textile experts they developed a set of processing steps and protocols that improved the processing. Constant clamoring to bring in actual experts in particular fields of study, they do and it should be viewed as a negative that improvements HAVE BEEN made? Not forward looking, it HAS HAPPENED.

Of course focusing on one sentence in a May shareholder letter ignores subsequent PRs and updates including but not limited to:

July 19 PR:

The new staff has introduced new egg treatment/hatching protocol systems that could reduce the rearing cycle by up to 40% during scale-up.

More improvement.

August 31st PR:

In the coming weeks, we plan to share additional exciting details on the significant progress we’ve made in all core aspects of our business plan, from molecular biology to the status of our manufacturing operations in Vietnam and the coming roll-out of our next-generation recombinant spider silk hybrids.

In the coming weeks but it is to share progress they HAVE MADE. Not they anticipate making. It has already happened.

Then, today, we get this statement:

The spider silk technologies developed at Kraig Labs are ready for large-scale production

The negative spin focuses on wondering why management changes had to be made. We don't know. What we do know is they ARE READY FOR LARGE SCALE PRODUCTION.

This is a pretty consistent string of PRs indicating progress and improvements, not setbacks and another round of do overs.

My take on the focus in the PRs on production is that Kim knows this is they key. Other updates are nice, good to hear progress is being made, but successful large scale production is the focus. I think Kim has learned not to put the cart before the horse. Not to get hopes up without having "the goods".

Experts are being hired and consulted. Process improvements are being made. They are not afraid to shift and pivot when it comes to processes, protocols, management structure, etc. They are not being stubborn but staying laser focused on the ultimate goal and doing what it takes to achieve it.

More to come but I still see progress during 2023 with more announcements yet to come.

Best of luck.

"All he is saying is it's ready for large-scale production. Nowhere does it say they have figured things out and it's a go."

huh?..."it's ready for large-scale production"....but you dont see where they have figured things out and its a go???...

thats EXACTLY what "it's ready for large-scale production" means!...

"The spider silk technologies developed at Kraig Labs are ready for large-scale production"

meaning the new worms...

"I am confident that the changes we are making at Prodigy will provide the platform for that growth."

meaning the management changes...

"Was it incompetence or is something else wrong?"

why does EVERYTHING have to mean something is wrong??...kim hired experts in sericulture...they changed some proceedures and protocols that greatly increased efficiency, cleared up bottlenecks and shortened the timelines for production...they proved their worth...and kim hired them...they werent consultants...what did you think people with 50 years of experience were brought in to do or be?....clean out worm crap...he hired them with the intent that they would become managers...HELLO!...

to me they sound like they were great hires, their performance has been excellent and placing them in management postions is an absolute no-brainer...

where is the problem in that?...you have a mediocre manager and you find someone who is a shining star in your organization....what do you do?...is there any doubt?...trying to turn this situation into an issue of incompetency, is itself, incompetence...

"New protocals could mean either."

new protocols are an attempt to make improvements...the fact that they have resulted in increased efficiency, removed bottlenecks and shortened production timelines means they have been successful...

but for some unknown reason some want to twist it into there being some sort of problem....lol

Gimme, when I look at today’s PR that includes the following statement:

“The spider silk technologies developed at Kraig Labs are ready for large-scale production.”

All I can think about is: If KBLB has gotten to the point where they know for certain, no takesies-backsies, pinky-swear-its-true, that is huge important piece of news that deserves its own full-throated PR. Instead, it appears as a toss-off line in a PR about the reorganization of Prodigy.

You don’t see scientists publishing reports saying, “We reorganized everyone’s office, painted the walls, provided new paper and pencils, got some brand new lighting, bought everyone a plant, and oh, by the way, we discovered the quark.”

For that reason, I tend to dismiss the import of this claim. Maybe it is true. If so, KBLB really ought to come out with a PR announcing that and giving more information about what happened.

Today’s PR struck me as yet-another-yawner from Thompson. I’m still waiting to hear the news about production I’ve been waiting on for the past 4 to 5 years.

For all those who seem to care about these things, I still own a chunk of stock. The current value is less than the swing I see monthly on my 401K plan, so if it tanks, I’ll write it off as a bad month on the market. Not buying, not selling, holding.
