Weird post. I guess you think shareholder value shouldn't be important to management. Nor advertising.
I understand the need to keep things under wraps somewhat while in development. You walk a tightrope between keeping shareholders properly informed and happy (I'd say improperly informed and on the hook with these guys), and keeping would-be competitors in the dark.
HOWEVER, if you are ready, you shout it from the mountaintops in the faces of your competitors. As for end users - again if you have what the industry needs NOW, you shout it out for the highest bidder. You don't coddle the big boys to have some kind of advantage over their competitors - you let them fight it out to see who is willing to pay the most, not the least. Economics common sense.
