The full name of the silkworm breed is “VH2020 Dual-System Quadruplex Hybrid Silkworm.” This is a hybrid product created from parent breeds originating from South Korea and Vietnam.
VH2020 silkworm breed has been recognized as a technically advanced silkworm breeds according to Decision No. 166/QD-CN-GVN dated May 19, 2023, by the Director of Department of Livestock Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
VH2020 silkworm breeds has an average cocoon yield of 12.53 kg of cocoon per 6-gram silkworm egg, with a single silk thread length of 800–900 meters, over 85% cocooning rate, and cocoon consumption of less than 7 kg per kilogram of raw silk. ......
