It would certainly be the sensible thing for him to do. But that isn't really a quality he's known for.
I think right now, he probably hopes he can--with the help of an obviously biased judge--delay and delay. And then next year is an election year, and he's a candidate. If he wins the election, but loses the court case, he can always pardon himself.
I don't think he'd win the presidency. But he'd stop at nothing trying. And we do not need any more of his chaos, greed, and ignorance.
There is no fodder in Trump's indictment(s) for Trump's supporters, rather just a thin gruel of denialism, bitterness, conspiracy theory and hypocrisy.
