while we are on golf.... The Saudi's just bought the PGA. I'd never thought that I'd see that happen.
LoL, yep, we used to put a ton of golf balls aside, then wash them, put them in cartons and sell them.
Sometimes we would even sell fresh balls to the guy who had just hit it over the fence so he could say "found it"...
Don't get me wrong. We grew up near a public golf course, not any of that country club stuff so when we were out playing, we took advantage. Hell, the first couple years, I snuck on to the course to play.
I'd park my bike in the woods nearby and walked right on through a hole in the fence. Never paid a dime.for my early rounds ;-) I was maybe 10 or so and my father despised the game because he wanted me to be a baseball player, but I found a set of women's clubs at the time that fit me and I just ran with it. (longer story there but not getting into it)
It was fun, and the people were nice even though they knew I was a freeloader.. That's how I got into caddying and eventually playing in a higher set.
It's just not in the cards for me anymore.
