It’s not clear whether Woodford or the other partners knew of the conflict beforehand. And frankly, it’s possible Wolf didn’t know of the conflict — not every director knows what’s going on with every employee in their company. So there’s that possibility.
Wasn’t the litigation simply between the former Cognate employee (Smith) and NWBO/Cognate. Was the new Israeli company that Smith worked for ever a party to the lawsuit?
It’s not even clear that the biotech that Wolf was a board member would even be a competitor to NWBO, although the companies are in a related cell therapy space in biotech.
