When my mom lived in Florida she had a bunch of lesbian friends who were some of the most kindhearted and wonderful people I ever met. Every Wednesday they went to a club where they played "drag queen bingo" and I had a blast tagging along. It was basically guys dressed up in women's clothes with the makeup ,fake boobs and wigs cracking jokes all night in between drawing numbers. A complete love fest and they picked on me a lot lol. My mom is straight too as far as I know and I wouldn't give a shit if she wasn't, she's still my mom.

It was those same lesbian women who called to check on her, got no answer and later found her on the floor 12 hours after suffering a stroke. They saved her life because they cared, not because they were "grooming" her and I owe them a huge debt of gratitude until this day.
