But in a twisted way I get her logic. A budget that takes the deficit from 33T to 51T does reduce the deficit if without that budget the deficit would be even higher. At some point they are going to have to address the absolute magnitude of the deficit. Inflation surely is addressing it.
I find it interesting that the world seems to have suddenly woken up to the fact that CD's and treasuries pay more interest than bank deposits. Wake up people and watch the numbers. While I was on vacation the week of the 17th, Edward Jones continued his program of buying short term bank CDs for me. He bought 6 on the 16th with an average maturity of 187 days paying an average of 5.46%. So why are people not just moving their money in the banks into their CDs. Of the 6 bank CD's bought, I would guess 3 would be in the regional bank category. EJ has explicit instruction to NOT BUY treasuries. I will not support the spending habits of this country. But offer me 15% again and my principals will crumble like paper.
