Actually, that is not correct. The endpoints were updated on both European databases and Adam I am sure knew it. Further the company said they were updated at all regulators. The regulators maintain the status on the website in the EU, and by the way it was the EU websites that had notified originally of the partial halt, so he can’t deny he looked there previously for factual information. Yet he insistently ignored the facts as presented on the government maintained clinical trials database so that he could insist on a status that he knew at least required further clarification. Did he ever imply that he was doing so? No, he did not. He implied it was a fixed and certain matter and that any change basically at this point, which is after unblinding, would be post hoc, knowing that the company and a government maintained resource indicated that the change had in fact already happened.

That was at the very least reckless disregard for the truth. Given his motive, getting back his reputation for the righteous drubbing he took in the Washington Post articles about his commentary about this specific company, I’d say we have his motivation to lie or be reckless with the truth, but really to lie, and we have a likely basis to establish his actual recklessness.
