#435858 RE: B402 #435854

I've said this here before but it is worth repeating. My coworkers daughters both went to college and got their teachers degrees and certifications. One of them teaches high school in my district and and another one not far from here. Both under 30 years old, pulling down over 100k a year They are both sports coaches too so there's no summer off for them. Always active. School is always open.

They don't have to worry about being arrested for showing a kid a book or saying something sensitive that upsets karen's son or daughter.

I only hope more good young teachers flock to our area after they realize that life in a GOP state is not sustainable along with parents who want a better life for their children and even though my property taxes are high, I'm glad to pay them to make a better world for me and everyone else around me with some very smart, well behaved kids for the most part and awesome teachers with highly qualified administration.

OOh and kids definitely don't go hungry at school around here either. Free hot lunch program has been in place since I was a tyke in the 70's. I was on it and the lunch ladies always knew who to sneak some extras to as well. ;-)

B402, Like i said your bothsideism is screwing your thinking. In recognizing your link what you say there,

"No you started the blame game,,,,,,We teach our kids to take on their own responsibility,,, I see none of that with the adults....
P - Your article pointed out one thing to take notice of since no responsibility is taken, just pointing out the other side......
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=171025328
"

is misguided. You ignore the fact that the Republicans have been attacking teachers for years. There is nothing illogical, unreasonable or irrational in assigning blame where blame clearly exists. Your reply suggests that everything Robert Reich and others said in my ..

B402, Democrats are not the ones who have mounted a no-holds-barred attack on public education.
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=171034549

.. went totally over your head. And i didn't say you said Democrats were attacking teachers.
I did say it was the Republicans who have been attacking public education for years.

Like i said your hang-up with bothsidesism is crippling you.

As for DeSantis's bill you say it's a good one. He and Abbott have led the attack on teachers and public education. Of course he, in thinking of his 2024 run and of the fact he isn't exactly popular on the national front, would now begin to suck up to groups he has unjustly maligned for years.

A good bill? It's not a good bill if it goes after teachers unions. Teacher unions represent teachers. Without knowing more the bill likely tries to separate more teachers from their unions. You say it's a good bill. Most i think at this stage would have to know more.

I don't look at it from a dem or Repug perspective

Of course you do. That's the only way you look at things. Your entire life philosophy is bothsidesism.
