Add to it a whole lot of wash trading today. Last stated O/S (end of September) was 20M shares, tossed over 13 times today (269M shares traded). December volume was in the 100-200k range per day. So somebody, large holder, maybe the folks who just did a deal with them for stock, waited for this "news" and turned their trading bots on.
Seems like a really dumb thing to do for a company claiming "manipulation," can they be less obvious?

Oh great. I can already see that Wall Street Naked Short protest showing up on every pump and dump board as proof their stock is being naked shorted.
What a tiresome battle that is.

Ok Ten, not a threshold security eh;

The internet is flooded with misinformation about what the Threshold Security List reveals about a security.

This makes it difficult for many investors to differentiate between legitimate short selling and unlawful manipulative short selling, and often causes investors to believe a stock’s price has dropped because of short selling rather than because of selling by insiders or the issuer itself.

just kidding, ok so we know gns is sec.. the other thing may or not be relevant. i think they have collected data over a lengthy period of time to make their case, we'll see

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=is+gns+stock+a+sec+reporting+company
FINRA Rule 4320 defines threshold securities as any equity security of an issuer that is not an SEC reporting security and, for five consecutive settlement days, has:

? aggregate failures to deliver at a registered clearing agency of 10,000 shares or more; and

? a reported last sale during normal market hours for the security on that settlement day that would value the aggregate failure to deliver position at $50,000 or more.

anyhow more to read there https://www.securitieslawyer101.com/2020/short-seller-regulation-sho/
but the argument is this system of reporting sucks, needs to be better, faster, more useful, etc,..
less prone to abuse.
