True, too much effort for a retired guy but am a pacifist guy too and if pitchforks are coming like Nick Hanauer suggests (if something doesn't change).. happy to do my part ;)
And why, exactly, do you want to "occupy" the SEC??
And why, exactly, do you want to "occupy" the SEC??
you are likely correct standing outside in the cold at a rally may not be the best venue but when national news covers you making the case with those piercing green eyes and deep sexy voice reaching down the throat of any unprepared punter squeezing the oxygen outta any unguarded, disingenuous and erroneous heart May be the impact needed. the podcast you did were the reforms needed the idea behind this message is to bring it to the next level
i can see concern that these bodies once held sacrosanct being targets in the culture wars and not wanting to be party to it.. and while every thing else is being questioned .. (used to be able to turn to the supreme court for the final measured even word but supreme court is f;d so, maybe can still get stuff done under their radar here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_courts_of_appeals fifth circuit to counter the fifth column
Non-delegation is the next frontier in constitutional law. It actually once was the prevailing constitutional law. It is very much on the Supreme Court’s radar, a fact of which the Fifth Circuit acutely is aware. Under the non-delegation view of the separation of powers under our Constitution, Congress is not permitted to delegate the law-making to anyone — including to the Executive). To that end, Justice Gorsuch observed in Gundy v. United States that “[t]he Constitution promises that only the people’s elected representatives may adopt new federal laws restricting liberty.”27 And in his words, “the framers understood [the constitutionally-endowed legislative power] to mean the power to adopt generally applicable rules of conduct governing future actions by private persons — the power to “‘prescrib[e] the rules by which the duties and rights of every citizen are to be regulated,’ or the power to ‘prescribe general rules for the government of society.’ https://taftlawpr.blob.core.windows.net/taft/files/fileuploads/63b8817ea4a7a200249f89ce/White%20Paper%20Jan%202023.pdf https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=171003216
your comment like most your comments need to be considered carefully its been about 10 years [two left in the plan, lol ;] of reading them and its been enriching (saved a lot of losses too!) but seriously, you are obviously well respected , fair minded, heart in the right place, etc,.. i remember election night with you 2016 - we stayed up until 4am. i was shocked and distraught by the result but no where near as much as you i felt so bad for you and again not as much as you were feeling i don't think i said a word no place for comic relief or goofin' around that night
anyhow, cuz u a smart cookie u knew exactly the implications to all you hold near and dear institutions being attacked, monies basically stolen..wealth transfers, a supreme court full of evangelicals ffs, racist autocratic backward thinking served up on prime time. a fox in the hen house...
it seems obvious to me if someone like you could help reverse some of the damage done by the previous administration you would be there in a flash. with your expertise. I'm not thinking art history. I know you and others here continually trying to do those very things helping to tweak/ make recommendations etc,.. At the SEC. (with the SEC whose chair is appointed by the president) this coming friday in nyc at the sec the world will be watching in a rare public display of disaffection with how fast reforms are taking place to help remedy the ongoing financial crimes and growing disparity for this little planetary human, plant and animal community. could be a legacy moment for those who have worked most or all of their life in securities reg. instead of bemoaning if only we weren't so under resourced and over worked with thought and prayers to fast track the reform you think is truly needed. i know you are probably thinking the first reform is to put me on ignore lolz.. another time i think the same year a few months later at new years eve i also wanted to drive down there and give you a hug you were a little wined (funny charming) and a little melancholy alone that night as someone asked what you were doing you said getting cozy with a plate of pasta a comfort food and salve for the recent upheavals anyhow, thanks for the question - brought back some good memories. ;)
