They don’t.

I follow them.

I’m paraphrasing, but at their latest shareholder meeting in October, they admitted that 100/200G has been a race to the bottom in pricing and they won’t compete there. They’ll sell some though. 400G is their real entrance into the market that has value and they combine 2 of them to get 800G. Their Chinese joint venture effectively has the rights to half of the value of the product they produce. They said they will become a transceiver maker at 800G which goes against a lot of what they’ve said over the last several years. The economic model changed negatively with that reality. Also understand that the US and Europe have majority market share for optical transceivers.

Right now they are individually creating a transmit engine and a receive engine. They still need to have them combined for an entire transceiver. Todays press release is basically saying engineering samples are going to potential customers/end users.

2023 milestones to look out for are a 400G transmit engine to combine with their completed 400G receive engine and hopefully a European partner. They were engaged with a North American partner for some time but in October POET said they are no longer engaged. Interesting. Competition is fierce in the packaging space.

I own some shares of POET but I strongly believe the economics of LWLG far exceeds POETs potential. I just love photonics so I bought them.

PhotonicsGuy does not own shares of POET if that tells you anything. Sorry for putting that out there PG. But we have some infiltrators.

I could go on but I’m sure this will draw negative attention from some.
