I think the putting the elderly residents on ice floes thing was a bit too much.

This is a huge growth area in the Western world and Japan/China. People have an uncanny ability to get old.

Working with the elderly, especially those with dementia is a hard, hard yobb. Almost as difficult as whistleblowing to the SEC, albeit less frustrating. I suspect there will be a lott of these unethical operations. DaDeadMomInLaw's smalische city has a good solution that has been around since the 1970s. The docs in town founded a large skilled nursing biz which has grown to several locations and also non-skilled care homes and assisted living facilities. They and their reputations are on the line and the quality of staff and care is IMO exceptional (per DaDeadMomInLaw's care and other members of DaSquaw's superfamily). Many of the docs do rounds in the skilled nursing care facilities and some even schedule on-site medical appointments for those in unskilled care (e.g., a doc may schedule a battery of appointments Wednesday afternoons twice a month on-site so the disabled or similar need nott travel or be transported. Works well for both the doc (or NP/PA) and patients.

Visiting assets turns up many obvious frauds as with Madoff's two-person auditor in a strip mall next to a day care center. Thanks Sam. I'm looking at some REITs now. The REIT sector is terribly beaten down.

"Perigrove’s website claims it operates out of a prestigious office building in Manhattan. We visited and found the company has no presence at its claimed address. Instead, we found Perigrove’s office on the outskirts of New York City, in a strip mall sharing an address with an auto parts store. On the front door of the building, Perigrove’s name was spelled wrong, as “Perigove”, with stickers."
