That is a coincidence. I think the reporting numbers are off for several reasons. The one that I can verify is that people around here get it and they know they have it. They don’t go get tested. They just take a few days off and then go back to work. Kind of like the flu. Both times I got a very weird floaty feeling. Like being disconnected from reality. Just watching life as if it was through someone else’s eyes. My senses became numb. It was very unique. If I feel that way a third time, but am otherwise kind of okay. I probably won’t go get tested. I’ll know I have it. I will just stay home and avoid contact for 5 days. So the CDC will have no record of it. I would use the Apple iPhone contact report feature but I don’t know if that is tied into the CDC reporting and their numbers. They were doing testing in both my son’s schools. But they stopped. It was pretty interesting. They would swab a whole bunch of them. Then mix the samples and see if they got a positive result. If they did, you didn’t know which kid had it but you did know it was present in the school and going around.
CT’s numbers are probably climbing because very few people here are taking precautions any more. I went to a 3 year old birthday party Saturday at a kids play gym. Where they climb all over little obstacle courses together. 15 snotty kids mixed and mingled while about 30 parents and grandparents stood in a close proximity group talking. If one person there had it. As contagious as it is. We will all probably have it. I am not hearing anything but good news from friends, family, colleagues, and clients. It doesn’t really come up any more. I hope it stays that way.
