I still SMH that trials have to allow the SOC which might negate the benefits of the trial drug.

It is unethical to deny standard of care to trial participants and it complicates enrollment. Why would an endpoint that exceeds current SOC be a bad thing, especially in a situation like AD where there is almost no SOC that results in meaningful cognition delays or improvements?
