With only 3 data sampling times (baseline, 4 weeks and EOT) the result rely on just two time points, so you take EOT if that's best and AUC if 4 weeks is best.
With more than 3 sample points AUC is clearly the more reflective expression of the trend over time.
Unfortunately the 12 week EXCELLENCE study also only have 3 sample times, so best to wait updating clinicaltrials.gov when Anavex have a better idea which endpoint presentation will look best.
