The issue is protocol and SAP manipulation that has been done at risk that regulators may reject the changes. NWBO specifically reported that issue in multiple SEC 10K filings.

naive OS was the secondary endpoint so it was being gathered in the trial and it still takes 5 years of observation either way -- had no explanation as to why the trial took friggin' 16 years to run. That's just bad trial operations. Novocure completed their 5 year trial in about 6 years and were able to get approved quickly based on the successful interim report of their 24 month data.
