Personally, I think we, in the US have done a good job over the last 14-15 years to expand energy production as it's more than double production in the mid-2000s. Biden certainly could have chosen a better person than Granholm for energy secretary but I suppose she's no worse than Rick Perry..:). Too bad this is more often than not a purely political appointment.
