There are ways to reduce chance of 12v battery fires in ICE vehicles, because the EMI that causes 12v battery fires can be redirected. However the same cant be said for high voltage lithium batteries. Which burn hotter, longer, and release more toxic fumes than gasoline.
If I had to choose between the 2 fires I'll take a gas fire over lithium fire.
