Holy Cow that link is awesome.

Thanks for posting it.
5 million “tons” of shrimp people.
That is 10 billion pounds of shrimp. (one “ton” is 2,000 pounds)

Even if only $1.00 profit per each one pound of shrimp, that would be $10 billion dollars. Oh my ,,,,

Great post D-Money6. Lots of good information on the Algerian Invest site and the Seafood Source site. It looks like the once-abundant Mediterranean Sea in that area is really suffering. TransAmerican Aquaculture will surely be a success. Can't wait till Monday!

D-Money6, very powerful GRPS shrimp info...

After people read the news below of GRPS acquiring the shrimp company Trans American Aquaculture, LLC, I think they should read what you posted regarding when... the US Embassy in Algiers stated in a statement published on its Facebook page that Trans American Aquaculture (TAA, Hondo, Texas) and its Algerian partner, Aqua Continentale signed a memorandum of understanding on 28 July in Algiers to jointly develop an aquaculture farm in the province of Relizane that will produce more than five million tons of shrimp for domestic consumption and export to Europe

Wow good stuff here....

"Global shrimp production has continued to trend upward, with a panel of experts at the National Fisheries Institute’s Global Seafood Market Conference predicting that global shrimp production will exceed 5 million metric tons (MT) in 2022.

“If I had done this analysis back in 2019, it would have said we wouldn’t reach 5 million tons until 2025,” Robins McIntosh, executive vice-president of Charoen Pokphand Foods, said during the panel. “The rate of shrimp production has actually accelerated over the last few years.”

Don't forget, the government offers out seasonal jobs for TAA on its website.

Would be pretty nuts if this will go with GRPS. They could end up supplying the entire global market with this Algeria investment.
