That’s not exactly what I said. They likely did wait on things to be final overall. But, with all the blaming going on and screaming about the notion that THEY were to blame for Adam’ column because they had not updated it, they appear to have given into pressure.
The fact is, the issue was a soft one likely based on good general advice not to take risks on the FDA’s fickle nature. But in the end people looked for any way to blame them, no matter WHAT they did. If they had updated earlier, and the critics invented a controversy on that, they too would then have been blamed. Non-action at the time was likely the best advice overall given the range of things counsel would have considered. The reality is, it’s never black and white but about weighing upsides and downsides. But as I said, no matter what they did, the same people would be insulting them and making claims that whatever it was, it was rank incompetence and they are not fit. That’s how these games get played by traders looking for issues to get a grip and stick, one way or the other.
You can keep trying to deflect this at me, but as I said, we all know who all started that blame game.
