You could be right and hopefully so. But we are still dealing with piddling amount and diminishing scripts overall.
Like many things our system here is so screwed up due to vested interests running the show. Tried to explain the situation with V and how its patent protection for the Marine indication has been lost but not for the R-I indication to someone and they couldn’t understand the current situation with the scripts. Had to go into a whole dissertation explaining how indications are almost never written on a script, how insurance companies are only interested in profits, how pharmacies switch scripts to GV, and how some States have some rules or mandates forcing the switch. And that is not even discussing the morons who still prescribe Lovaza en masse.
Realistically if the FDA or other organization was really concerned about patients they would easily recognize that Lovaza is mostly being prescribed for an indication that it has not been approved for, and for which its ingredients have failed in all clinical studies.
