I think you are doing something wrong on Coinbase because the message I got actually said "only send AVAX C chain to this address"

Steps and try it with like 1 AVAX first.

At Coinbase make sure you are on the receive button not the send. You will see a QR thing. Select AVAX. You will see the message only send AVAX C Chain to this address. I saw the contract code to send it to from my wallet. It looks fine on my end.
