Another way to protect files... if you have a cd/rw is to just work with them on/from the disk. Move them to the disk... delete them from the hd. Open from disk... save to disk... remove disk. Protected. Small files can use floppies, also.
re: "... probably to complex for the user involved"
Last year BobZ tried to help the iHub community become better skilled in the "art" of listening skills.
#msg-622581 The Question and Answer Board (BATTY) Posted by: Bob Zumbrunnen Date: 12 December 2002 ... was told this morning that my misunderstanding of what somebody was telling me was because I have poor listening skills..... [stop.]
This post triggered gotmilk to rise up, and inform all, that it would accomplish just the opposite effect.
In retrospect it now appears that gotmilk was too harsh to describe Bob's thoughts in a cataleptic physical type of state of mind. It is more accurate to change that 110% to a 95% condition of error, BobZ made :o)
Posted by: whitelake ... that would be to complex for the lady envolved. [stop.]
whitelake,
My experience is that "complex" exist in two places, one is real, and the other is false.
Examples of real complex lie in certain sciences where only a few steps of undestanding are required, but each of these steps are indeed complex and lay outside the ability of most all people, regardless of their effort.
Once again i must use Dr. Zeev Hed as an example, as while he can make solutions from answers he obtains, most all cannot understand the question.
But other areas are sucessfully accessed by most all, even when the complex attribute is associated with them, as in these cases the steps required to go from questions identified as a problem to solve, to answer and solution, may require a hundred or thousand times as many steps, but each step itself is non complex in nature, and doable by most all, it just requires time & effort like "bookkeeping."
I'am sure this lady could find usable the feedback you received today on this board to accomplish the task she needs to obtain, but it would require you to put the solution into a less complex like appearing instruction format.
