Yep. Jeffrey Tayler makes a decent case for atheism. Good for your father. On that post he sounds a decent guy. MY father didn't go to church, just was extra respectful of his mother's very religious position in life. As children when we visited her we were made to listen for hours while she told bible stories. I couldn't mow the lawn on a Sunday when she visited us. As a kid who for years had to handle almost an acre of lawn with a hand mower that, umm, annoyed me. I'd guess most people get into religion the way you described in your

Saturday, 02/14/09 Your answer cemented the thoughts i was having of you. Just so you know, a belief in your Christian concept of God is beyond me. Those who know me know. Quite simply, i was kicked out of Sunday school for asking how the preacher didn't know that God wasn't a big, fat African woman. At that tender age the "he" thing was bothering me and PC wasn't such a social disease. P - The evolutionary history of the Gods continues to be solid evidence to me that "he" was created in the mind of and in the image of MAN, rather than the other way around as the church teaches. Wondered about it for years and just think now that every single person who believes they are talking to God, is actually talking to themselves.
