We know from a slide from Dr B that there were 17 patients enrolled in 2007-9

The phrase "relates to" asserts a correlation between the 38 unidentified and the 17 early patients. Not that they were the same patients.

It is very reasonable to assume the first 17 were not screened for meth status. But the other 21 could be random fails to identify.

I also think both you and Flipper should consider the fact that we know NWBO performed additional genetic screening in 2019-20. Though that was to identify IDH mutations, could well have adjusted some meth status data.
